# ULS-XCopter Documentation

## Application

ULS-XCopter is designed for small vertical take-off and landing aircraft.
Its low weight and size fit drones weighing as little as 100 grams, which
makes it the usual choice for getting to know the technology and for
research institutes running experiments with vehicles.

- **Landing on a platform and emergency landing** — the small transmitter
  marks the landing point on any platform; for an emergency landing it is
  simply placed on the ground and powered.
- **Elevated platforms** — the system measures the distance to the landing
  point itself, so landing on masts, tall structures or large vehicles
  needs no extra sensors or adjustment.
- **Balconies and one-sided platforms** — tilting the transmitter sets the
  approach angle, so the drone can land where a vertical descent is
  impossible. This can be disabled in the receiver settings, for example
  for moving platforms.
- **Wireless charging and contactless delivery** — the system gives the
  horizontal offset and the height, so the drone can hover precisely over
  a charger or a drop point.

The ULS-XCopter is not dust- or waterproof; for harsh environments see
ULS-ProCopter or ULS-Heli.
